Simple design uses two angled panels, its two sides, bottom and the waters surface to create a hexagonal circulation pattern used to suspend planktonic and pelagic species.

Water circulation is difussed downward across the exit screen by a flexible Lok-Line spray bar. Input bulkhead accepts 1/2" pipe and requires a seperate input source of water.

Water exits via screened panel into the Stand Pipe chamber. Stand pipe is 1" and determines water level in tank. Drain bulkhead is 1" and accepts 1" pipe. Bulkhead requires drain to seperate filter. This tank is a passive system.

Description:

Inexpensive rearing tank for the exploration of jellyfish, juvenile fish, seahorses and pipefish. Built from 1/4" thick rugged cast acrylic. Tank is 24" Long X 11" Wide X 20" Tall. One inch wide top frame for structural support.

Screens are available in 500, 1000 and 2000 micron sizes. Seahorse breeders seem to prefer 500 micron screens, whereas Moon jellyfish work better with 1000 micron screens. Some sizes may require longer leadtime for acquiring, manufacturing or packaging.

This tank is designed to be a passive and individual part of a component style larger system. Tank can be set up with a simple wet-dry filter for filtration and submersible water pump to create circulation. A gate or simple ball valve ( not included ) should be used to regulate water flow within the rotation portion of the tank.
